Stars Honored at Russian Festival

Actor Harrison Ford received one of the Russian Nights Festival's 2006 "Tower Awards" at a special ceremony on April 8, recognizing his contribution to world cinema. From left are Ford, actress Thora Birch, who presented the award, and Festival President Stas Namin.
 
The 4th Annual Russian Nights Festival, presented by the Stas Namin Center, also honored Sir Ben Kingsley, Gore Vidal, and cinematographer Andrzej Bartkowiak.The group was presented with the 2006 Tower Awards at the closing night ceremony in the Pacific Design Center's Silver Screen Theater. Other pre­senters were Shohreh Aghdashloo, Natasha Henstridge. Vadim Perelman and Raquel Welch. Actor Rob Schneider was also honored at the ceremony, while Dennis Hopper and Roger Corman received Tower Awards during the Festival's opening ceremony on April 2.
 
This year's Russian Nights Festival celebrated the rich culture of , past and present, with an exciting program featuring the best from the worlds of film, music, theater and contempo­rary art.
