From Russia, with love

By Chris Gardner

From Russia, with love: Sharon Stone, who recently cel ebrated her birthday party at the Buffalo Club in Santa Monica, had another busy weekend. The "Catwoman" villainess made a pit stop at the Pacific Design Center on Friday night for a special Hollywood Life magazine-sponsored ceremony, part of "Russian Nights," a festival of Russian culture. Stone received the Tower Award for her contributions to world cinema. But the bigger deal came by way of a poem that Andrei Voznesensky wrote and dedicated to Stone. The famed Russian poet (a favorite of Jackie Kennedy) read his work, which likened Stone's spirit to a triangle, in his native tongue. Stone provided the English translation. "I've had the amaz ing good fortune to travel all over the world," she told the gather ing. "In my trips to Russia, I have found such incredible beauty and depth. Thanks for sharing that with me and trusting me with this."
